The EU Supports the 5th Edition of the Image FestivalAmman

In the month of April 2016, the 5th edition of the Amman Image Festival will take place as it will be organised by Darat Al Tasweer with the support of many venues and partners.
On Friday April the first , the Official Opening of the Amman Image Festival at the Amman Citadel will take place at 6 pm with the exhibit "Vestiges'' which isan unprecedented exploration of ancient Greek and Roman sites by the French Photographer Josef Koudelka. The exhibit is supported by the French Centre in Amman. The opening ceremony will also host Jordanian composer Tareq Al Nasser playing the piano.
On Wednesday, April 6, at 6 pm is the Official Opening of the Exhibition by German Photographer Amilie Losier at the French Centre. The Exhibit is also supported by Goethe Institute in Amman.
The EU supports the Amman Image Festival. The Festival is the single major event dedicated to photography in the region that aims at gathering more professionals together, attract a wider audience, expand internationally and create opportunities for sustainable cultural exchanges.
More than 100 Jordanian and international photographers presented their art works in the framework of the Festival. The Festival also offers workshops/meetings with guest photographers, portfolio reading by professionals, residential creations, publications, and a photographic competition: open to amateur and professional Jordanians living in Jordan or abroad and residents in Jordan.

The Programme which is funded by the European Union isimplemented by the EU National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) in Jordan whose members include: the British Council, Instituto Cervantes, Institut Francais, Goethe Institute, Embassy of Greece, Embassy of Romania and Societa Dante Alighieri. END
